May survives fresh Brexit vote but rebels up the pressure

LONDON: British Prime Minister Theresa May survived another key Brexit vote on Wednesday (Jun 14) but her pro-European MPs warned they could yet rebel if she backtracks on promises to give parliament a greater say in the final withdrawal deal.

The House of Commons overturned an amendment to the EU (Withdrawal) Bill, tabled by the unelected House of Lords, seeking to keep Britain aligned to the bloc’s customs union.
